About me

My story

After receiving my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology I began using art as a way of going beyond traditional talk therapy. I found that I, and everyone I worked with, had access to their own symbolic language. A language that’s raw and connected directly to emotions, a language that can bypass our trained responses.
I was never one for much discipline, I hated studying the colour wheel and colour value, or copying a photograph. It definitely has its place—just not for me. Maybe that’s why I’m attracted to a more primal method of self-expression.
I studied Art as the key to an inner Language and learned how to find answers to my deepest questions. Colours, lines, shapes, images, and symbols can be personal and can reveal hidden motivations when introduced with intention.
I feel my greatest success is when those looking at my art think “it looks like it is a lot of fun to paint!” I hope others can connect with the art and that it brings them some of the same joy that it brings me in making it.
